Home to the world-renowned Bowron Lake Canoe Circuit, Bowron Lake Park is a large wilderness area that is frequented by canoeists and kayakers. The park features a varied topography and the weather often changes with little warning. The park also features a 25 unit campground.
Pinnacles Provincial Park is located 8 km (5 mi) outside of Quesnel. The park is comprised of 124 hectares of pine forest and the unique rock formations known as hoodoos. The park is open year-round for day use and features a short hiking trail and a breathtaking view of both Quesnel and Baker Creek.
Puntchesakut Lake Provincial Park contains 38 hectares of aspen forest, 1200 m of waterfront and a variety of lake-based activities. The sandy beach is popular for sunbathing, picnic lunches and swimming, while those with boats often end up patrolling the lake for fish and prime water-skiing.
Sandwiched between Bowron and Wells Gray Provincial Parks, Cariboo Mountains offers untouched wilderness, clear lakes and ancient hemlock forests. The park offers a variety of backcountry activities, such as wilderness camping, fishing and hiking.
Kluskoil Lake Provincial Park offers visitors multiple recreation opportunities, including hiking, hunting and swimming. During the spring and early summer the park may become inaccessible due to high water levels, so make sure to plan accordingly.
Located within the Fraser Basin, Ten Mile Lake Provincial Park is a popular recreation spot for activities including hiking, fishing, swimming, boating and water skiing. The park's lake features three sandy beaches. There is a picnic area onsite and two campgrounds with a number of facilities.
Barkerville was once a prosperous gold mining town and the Barkerville Provincial Park keeps this history alive. Guided tours of the town are offered so visitors can learn about the lives of prospectors as well as pan for gold. Hiking, cross-country skiing and snowshoeing are also possible in the park. In addition, 168 campsites are available within three campgrounds in the park.
